THE HORN
OBJECTS
The "Horn" is a contemporary take on the Mithun Head or Horn which is a powerful symbol of fertility, prosperity and wealth.
The structure inside is supported by solid cane, the facade is wrapped with textile pieces woven on the loin loom, however a small part of innovation on the loin loom by Heirloom Naga was to add Bamboo splits on the weft which gives the textiles a firm but flexible property and that is how the patterns are achieved.
Two different types of bamboo splits are used : natural and the other ham dye. The braiding is also Ham Dyed in one of our original style/weave in Cane and Bamboo.
Seen in every aspect of Naga Architecture, Mithun Horn dignifies house facades which declared the social status of the owner.
